It was subsequently sold by them in November 2011(at three months old) for £32,554 to a gentleman from Oxford. Judging by the number plate he assigned to this car “9 B” one can assume he was rather well heeled to say the least. He kept the car six and a half years before selling it to a good friend in 2018 who kept it a further 8 years, and from whom I bought it from in August this year. I came across this car quite by accident whilst I was buying one of my old cars back from a customer. I saw this sitting on his neighbours drive and said “that’s very nice” My customer (the owners neighbour) told me that he wanted to sell it, if your interested, so it all went from there. Initially the owner who by his own admission really liked this car was a tad reluctant to sell, however he’d already bought another car from his friend (a newer C-Class) and as he had a work van, so the reality was this C350CDI was barely getting used. That was in contrast to his earlier ownership where he mainly used it for travelling between Alfreton and Oxford to visit his mother. I spend my life looking for ultra-low mileage cars, so this is a slightly higher mileage than I’d usually consider, but when something like this comes along it really bucks the trend; this car is immaculate and is testament to its owners who have looked after it regardless of the cost. In fact the last owner said he really didn’t mind spending on this car because he just loved it, and it’s not hard to see why, there’s just something very endearing about it. I’ve also got a theory about well looked after higher mileage cars; it’s that everything that could go wrong, has, and has been fixed. Also do remember this is a 3.0 litre V6 engine so is incredibly under stressed in the W204. This may look like a sensible estate car (which it is) but with almost 700nm of torque, its bonkers, it can out accelerate many so-called sports cars, you never tire of that mid-range wave of gut-wrenching torque. However, unlike most sports cars, it returns superb fuel economy. At 70mph in top gear the engine is barely ticking over. So in summary, a car that looks the parts, does everything well and is such fun to drive and comes with the superb provenance too. Most of these S204 Estates have fallen into the wrong hands and/or have been run on a shoestring, so it’s refreshing ton find one like this. THE MTSV DIFFERENCE Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business.
